In the heart of our house
A transformation unfolds
As we begin to renovate
Our journey unfolds.
Our countertops are gone
Our floor is no more
Drywall, tools and paint cans have taken over
Oh what an eyesore!
It’s loud
It’s chaotic
It’s leaving a mess
Dust swirls around me
I feel so stressed.
But with each new tile
And each new light
Our house is transformed
It’s open and bright.
From dated to dazzling
And old to new
We made this house into a home
Where our dreams we can pursue.
–Farheen’s Note: This summer we undertook a full house renovation project. From meeting with contractors and running around looking at home fixtures, to packing and moving everything we own and having my whole family live in the basement underneath the loud banging of the renos, the whole experience was quite the “adventure”. I may write a future blog post or two on our renovation journey, but for now I am happy to say that the work is finally done, I have my sanity back and we are slowly beginning the process of “moving back” into our newly transformed home.
