Back to school
It’s finally here
The end of summer break
The start of a new school year.

There’s some anxiety
There’s some despair
For the freedom of summer
Is no longer there.

Back to routine
Back to the early morn
Wishing there were just a few
More lazy days to go.

Yet there’s a sense of excitement
A renewed energy in the air
As bags are packed
And lunches are made
As clean clothes are laid out
And a new school year adventure awaits.
